Blood Work

Dr. Breen has a significantly discounted cash price from Lab Corp for patients without insurance, those who have high deductibles, or insurance plans that only cover a portion of the lab fees. In order to take advantage of the negotiated cash price, we must collect credit/debit card information up front to generate your lab request. The cash price for the initial panel for men is $324.45 and for women $357.75. These cash prices are about 50% less than what patients are charged by Life Extension.

It is the patients responsibility to verify coverage of labs with their insurance provider. The amount that Lab Corp bills your insurance company for this panel is over $3000. This means if you have a $3000 deductible you will be billed $3000. Even if your insurance plan covers 80% of the cost you will still be left with a $600 (approximate) bill. We have found that our cash price is typically less than what patients end up paying if they use their insurance in the majority of cases. 95% of our patients end up using the cash price. Please note that Dr Breen has opted out of the Medi-care Program. Some patients are able to use their Flexible Spending Plan for reimbursement.

As soon as you decide what option you are going to use to get your initial labs done call our office at 949-346-5265 with credit card information or let us know that you would like to use your PPO insurance to generate your lab request. You must let us know up front as we generate the lab requisition differently for each option. It generally takes 5-7 days the results of your blood work back. Dr. Breen will email you the results of your blood work (on the portal) with explanation just prior to your initial visit.
